On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
Scouting’s Mission Statement
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
My vision of success and the related plan of action
To instill a love of nature and adventure in the scouts of Troop 68 through enhancement of the outdoor and high adventure programs of the Troop.
Complete Wilderness First Aid Training Course including prerequisite Basic First Aid, CPR and AED courses.
Register as a Hiking Merit Badge counselor with the Council and lead a 20 mile hike to enable completion of the badge requirements.
Develop and Publish a “Where to Hike” Website for Troop 68 for locations near Jamestown, NC including accessible options for scouts with disabilities.
Plan and conduct a program that will Fulfill the requirements of the BSA Historic Trails Award.
Develop and Participate in a Physical Fitness Program for Scouts and Leaders of Troop 68 to train and prepare for the physical challenges of High Adventure Activities.
